Based on the keenness of the
State of Kuwait, represented in the Ministry of Awqaf and Islamic Affairs (Mosques
Sector, EngineeringDepartment) on building, caring and giving
attention to the mosques. The heritagemosques section, of the Department of
Engineering over four years has renewed and rehabilitated 32 mosques, among
heritagemosques in the State of Kuwait out of 50 mosques. They have become in a
beautiful images, in consistent with their status and sanctity as a worship building
on one hand, and heritage on the other hand because they narrate the history of
parents and grandparents. They are also a witness to the relevance of the
Kuwaiti people forageswith its Islamic traditions.
The renovation and
rehabilitation process represented in transferring some services (toilets and
ablution and accommodation of the workers outside the mosque) and then expanding
the old mosque as well as adding a chapel for the ladies.
In this context, Engineer Salem Al-Odwani, section head of heritage mosques in
mosques sector said, the renovation and rehabilitation plan for the heritage mosques
will continue according to the strategic plan.
