Sheikh Mesnad Al-Qahtani: Optimism and trust in Allah protects societies from sliding into a cycle of despair and disappointment

The believer is in constant need of divine help; to ask for good or to seek refuge from evil. Thus, seeking help and supplicating to Allah Almighty if combined with trust and good faith, then the heart of the believer will be filled with tranquility and satisfaction, no matter what adversity he may face.
On the issue of optimism and trust in Allah Almighty, Sheikh Mesnad bin Mohsen Al-Qahtani, preacher and lecturer, said that good faith is one of the reasons for happiness in the worldly life and salvation in the Hereafter. For this, Muslim should be optimistic and trust in Allah Almighty, no matter tribulations he would face, he should be sure that Allah Almighty is the Omnipotent. It is not only about personal interests, but about the current affairs and concerns of the Muslim Ummah as well.
Sheikh Al-Qahtani believes that optimism motivates human being to work and to seek for the best. By contrast, a pessimistic person is unable to act or initiate, he has a constant sense of uselessness, and distrusts those around him; rulers, officials, scholars or preachers, even traders and employers are not trustworthy for such a pessimistic or nihilist person. If that defeatist spirit prevailed among people, it might drag society into a dark tunnel. Therefore, optimism and good faith protect the individual as well as protect society from sliding into a vicious cycle of despair and disappointment. In this sense, it was narrated by Muslim that Prophet Muhammad, PBUH, said: "When a man says people have perished, he is the one who has suffered that fate most". [Muslim]. And Allah Almighty said in a Hadith Qudsi: "I am as My slave thinks of Me".
Hence, optimism and good faith will remain the motive that urges a preacher to renew his speech to attract people's attention to his lectures, and urges a student to do his best to develop himself and enrich his religious knowledge. Optimism also will remain the motive that help parents to do their best to raise children on the noble religious morals. Good faith also is that tolerance which prompts man to accept excuses and forgive lapses and little mistakes in order to maintain brotherly ties.
For all this, we need to trust people, regardless of proplems that exist in some of our communities. But Islamic Ummah is still full of faith, goodness and righteousness, thanks to Allah, the righteous people are the majority.
Over and above, we must trust Allah Almighty, and be sure that, despite of failures and problems, there will be a breakthrough that will remove all these difficulties away. And that our Lord definitely will reward good deeds in the best way. In accordance with the verses of the Holy Quran: {Indeed, those who have believed and done righteous deeds - indeed, We will not allow to be lost the reward of any who did well in deeds} [Al-Kahf:30]. {For indeed, Allah does not allow to be lost the reward of those who do good} [Hud:115].
